Cold Hardy Peach Rootstock
Crucial to the survival and regular production of peaches and nectarines in Central Asia is having hardy rootstocks to deal with the extreme weather and soil conditions. Cold-hardy rootstocks combined with hardy imported fruit varieties will allow regular cropping and long term survival of the tree. We have imported rootstocks from Canada and Europe which have been specifically selected for the climate and soil conditions of Central Asia. We have St Julien A, Bailey, Siberian C and Kuban 86.
NEW dwarf and semi-dwarf cherry rootstock
Sweet cherries have a big future in Central Asia and especially in south western Kazakhstan. We are trialling some different dwarf and semi dwarf rootstocks which are proven to be very productive and suitable for the soil and climate conditions. Research has shown that dwarf and semi-dwarf rootstocks have early bearing potential and can produce increased volumes of fruit when planted at high densities. We hope to be offering trees grafted to these rootstocks in the very near future. We have VSL-2, Mahaleb, Colt and Maxma 14.
